Throughout the years fashion has rocked the flamenco world with traditional and innovative costumes for occasions such as Sevilla's annual Feria celebration, theater and small venue performances, and flamenco parties of all styles. Lately, flamenco flare has branched out to everyday wear all over the world!
The Tucson Spanish and Flamenco Festival, now in its third year, would like to offer you the opportunity to show your skills and show the community what it takes to create a flamenco fashion masterpiece. Anyone who is a fan of flamenco style can incorporate flamenco fashion into everyday ensembles!
On Saturday, September 24, 2011 the festival will feature a dynamic fashion show that is sure to excite! Participants will also have the opportunity to sell selected items at the Festival’s Fashion Boutique!

ABOUT THE FESTIVAL:
Casa Vicente, Club España, Flamenco del Pueblo Viejo, and festival sponsors are proud to present Tucson’s 3rd Spanish and Flamenco Festival! In historic downtown Tucson, this is a unique opportunity to experience flamenco and Spanish culture in a traditional late-night, outdoor festival atmosphere. Traditional Spanish tapas will be served along with Casa Vicente’s extensive dinner menu. There will also be fine wine tasting! Along with four nights of performance, festival events this year include a fantastic flamenco fashion show, a Sevillanas dance contest, and a kick-off festival celebration for kids at the Tucson Children’s Museum!
The Festival’s nightly performances feature special guest artists including some of the country’s most esteemed flamenco dancers and musicians. Additionally, nightly concerts will feature flamenco fusion and flamenco-inspired musical groups. Special guest instructors will offer a variety of workshops and lectures for beginners through advanced levels in dance, guitar, percussion, and singing as well as flamenco history and theory. Here’s how to participate!
Download and fill out the application form and send no later than August 20th by email to tucsonspanishflamenofestiv al@gmail.com or by mail to Tucson Spanish and Flamenco Festival c/o Angelina Ramirez, P.O. Box 34531 Phoenix, AZ 85068. After your form is received, we will contact you with details. Festival staff may request photos/video/portfolio examples of your work before your application to participate is accepted.
Participation Rules and Objectives:
1. Designers should plan on showcasing no more than 10 ensembles for the show.
2. Designers can bring their own models or models can be provided upon request.
3. Music will be provided for the show. If you would like special music selections for your showcase, please request it by email after your application is accepted!
